The software framework can create tags and map communication based on the OPC server's connections. To commence this, select the created OPC node and choose the "Import" option.
After you create an OPC communication node, you can select the node and click "Import" to import the OPC items to the solution.
Import Tags from an OPC UA Node
Available from FrameworX 10.1.6.
- Go to Devices → Nodes and select a node on an OPC UA channel.
- Click Import Tags, next to Go to Points. The importer opens already connected with the node’s server address, security and certificate settings.
- Browse the server namespace, choose a branch and filter the variables.
- Import the selected variables. The importer creates the tags and points on the selected node.
You do not enter the connection again for each import, and repeated imports add no new node. The Import Tags link appears only for users with permission to edit Devices and Tags. When the importer cannot reach the server, the message names the server and the cause.
For the OPC UA Client node settings, see OPC UA Client Connector.
